The Voyageurs Men's Basketball team looked to get back to form following a disappointing loss last Friday. Standing opposite them on the court tonight was the York Lions, who themselves are coming off a tough loss of their own. It was the Voyageurs who reigned supreme on the night, winning 79-58 on the road.
What led to the blowout victory was a couple of terrific scoring nights from the usual tandem of Kadre Gray and Nelson Yengue with 24 points and 18 points, respectively. Regardless of the monster scoring efforts of Gray and Yengue, it was the Lions' 25 turnovers, poor shooting percentage and inability to knock down free throws that sank them in the game. Laurentian capitalized on York's carelessness with the ball by knocking down 36 points off of turnovers.
Gray added 5 assists and 4 rebounds to his game-high 24 points and it was Nana Adu-Poku who led the Lions with his 12 points off the bench.
The Voyageurs wrap up their road trip with a stop in Kingston to take on the Queen's Gaels (6-7), the action gets underway at 8PM.
