The Voyageurs men's basketball team won a last second overtime thriller to improve their record to 10-1 on the season, upending the Queen's Gaels, 71-70.
After four very close quarters nearly in favour of the Gaels, the match was sent into overtime when Voyageurs' veteran Anthony Iacoe drained a clutch three pointer with less than ten seconds to go in the game.
Each team traded advantages within the bonus five minutes, however it was the Voyageurs who came away with the victory when second year guard Sam Ivey completed another shot from behind the arc with just 3.9 seconds left in the game, earning Laurentian their tenth win of the season.
Three-point shooting proved to be a solid foundation once again for the Voyageurs who shot 40% from the perimeter on their 25 attempts, with Iacoe going 6-8.
Top scorer for the visiting Gaels was Jaz Bains with 29 points.
The Voyageurs will look to keep their winning streak alive as they face off against the #10 Ryerson Rams and the University of Toronto Varsity Blues next weekend at the Ben Avery Gym. Tip off is set for 8pm.
