After a close first quarter of play, the Voyageurs had a surge of energy in the second, outscoring their opponents the University of Toronto Varsity Blues 31-19. Laurentian was able to maintain their lead throughout the second half, handedly coming out of the match victorious with a 101 - 82 win.
Again shooting percentage appeared to be a strength for the Voyageurs who shot 55.9% from the field compared to their opponents 38.8% success rate. Rebounding likewise proved to be a key factor for Laurentian who outboarded their opponent 44-34.
Top contributor for the Voyageurs was second year guard Kadre Gray who earned 32 points, as he shot 58% from the field, adding six rebounds and seven assists. Another notable performances came from senior forward OJ Watson who had 21 points of his own off the bench on 8-10 shooting.
Top scorer for the Varsity Blues was Reilly Reid with 21 points.
After earning their twelfth victory of the season, the Voyageurs will head to Ottawa next weekend where they'll face off against the number one team in the country, the Carlton Ravens, and the seventh ranked team, the Ottawa Gee Gees.
