After a tough loss to the Brock Badgers, Laurentian was looking for an upset as they faced off against the 4-0 McMaster Marauders tonight at the Ben Avery Gymnasium.
Coming out of the gate with an unmatched energy, it truly looked as if the Voyageurs would hand the Marauders their first loss of the season. However, McMaster gained momentum as the game progressed, which resulted in a strong second half and ultimately a 76-70 win in the Marauders' favour.
Laurentian was led by a trio of guards, fourth year Andrea Zulich, third year Kayla Deschatelets and fifth year Emily Tinnes. Both Zulich and Deschatelets racked up 18 points a piece while Tinnes earned 17 points.
Leading scorer for the Marauders was Sarah Gates with 24 points.
The Voyageurs will have a week to recharge before they head to Algoma University next Friday where they'll play the Thunderbirds at 6pm.
