The Vees started off on the right foot after scoring the first but also the second goal in the game. The first goal would be scored by Noah Kalsner-Lowe after he was given the prime opportunity to pot a rolling puck in the crease after a shot on net from Paul Antoine-Deslaurier. William Gignac would pick up the assist.

The Voyageurs would hold the lead through the second frame but would only have a one goal advantage after Liam Murphy beat Mackenzie Savard eight minutes into the second.
The Stingers would tie the game on Colin Grannary's goal, but the Laurentian offensive core would step up and add not one, but two goals onto the scoreboard giving the Vees a 4-2 win. Both goals would come on the powerplay, which finished the night 2/4. The first would come from the Voyageur captain, Jayme Forslund, after he shovelled a loose puck in for his first goal of the season. McCaw and Makary would pick up the assists. The second would come from Zach Wilkie who would score his second goal of the year and add the final goal of the matchup. Nowry and Gignac would get the assists.
