The Voyageurs women's soccer team hit the road for the second consecutive weekend as they battled the Carleton Ravens and Ottawa Gee-Gees in the nation's capital. Despite some strong performances, the Voyageurs returned home, still searching for their first win.
Against Carleton, the Voyageurs found themselves down 1-0 just four minutes in. A Ravens goal in the 36th minute gave the home team a 2-0 lead at half time. The Voyageurs made some key adjustments in the second half and started to match the Raven's intensity but could not break through. Hunter Jones did what she could, making 10 saves in the 3-0 defeat.
The next day, against Ottawa, the Voyageurs played well against the perennial contender Gee-Gees, holding the home team to just two goals in the match. Unfortunately, the Voyageurs could only muster a single shot on target in the match and fell 2-0. Noemie Bouchard played extremely well and made 10 saves in defeat.
The Voyageurs will now get prepared for a home-and-home week with their northern rival, the Nipissing Lakers, on Wednesday and Sunday.
