The Voyageurs women's soccer team headed to North Bay on Wednesday to battle the Nipissing Lakers on Wednesday.  Despite making some in-game adjustments, the Lakers' fast start was too much and the Voyageurs fell 5-0.

The game opened in a hurry as Nipissing scored less than a minute into the game and by the five-minute mark, it was 2-0.  When the whistle blew for halftime, the scoreline read 4-0.

The Voyageurs made some adjustments at half and held the Lakers to a single goal in the second half but they were unable to break through themselves, falling 5-0.  Hunter Jones did what she could to keep the Voyageurs in the game, making 15 saves in the losing effort.

The teams head to Sudbury for the back half of the home-and-home in what will be the Voyageurs' home opener.
