WBB | Lafond Named OUA Second Team All-Star

The OUA announced their women's basketball award winners on Thursday and Emilie Lafond was named a second team all-star.

 

The fifth year forward from Hanmer, ON was one of the best post players in the league this season, finishing in the top 10 in blocks and free throws while finishing in the top 20 in the league in a number of statistical categories including points, points per game, rebounds, rebounds per game, field goals made, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage.  It was also a season that saw Lafond eclipse the 1000 career point mark and 500 career rebound plateau.

 

Lafond's prowess on both ends of the floor and leadership helped guide the team to a winning record for the first time in 16 years and home playoff game for the first time in 17 years.
